Post eve online
hey guys ive been playing mw2 with you guys for a while now...me and my brother...and anyways i just wanted to let you guys know i play eve online and i created a corperation in eve 82nd all americans...if any of you would like to join up with us on eve i and a couple buddies of mine can(and will) send buddy invites for a 21 day trial if you would like to give it a whirl....its a VERY difficult game to get the hang of...the learning curve is pretty steep...but if you would like to try it let me know...i think alot of you allready have my steam id so just send me a message through steam or leave a message here and ill get a buddy invite your way...ill personaly help you get started...

now a little about eve...

this is a space based mmorpg...you are 1 of 4 races (amarr, gallante, caldari, and minmatar) they all have their strengths and weaknesses...amarr is typicly slow with alot of firepower utilizing lasers...gallante is heavily armored utilizing drones...caldari is weak on the armor but high in shields and typicly uses missles...and minmatar are like a jack of all trades but they are typicly the fastest ships in the game...your skills are trained in realtime...what this means is you set up a que for skills to train for a 24hour period (or longer if one of your skills takes days or even weeks to train) but you do NOT have to be ingame for your skills to train...even when your asleep your toon "should" be skill training...its a very very ruthless universe with pirates...thieves...scammers...traders...pirate hunters...merc's...miners...you name it...its pretty much like real life...there is no holds barred...you watch your back like a hawk and do pretty much what you want to do...it DOES take some time to get into the bigger ships...but dont let that deter you...in 3-4 days time i could have you piloting a ship thats a GREAT ship (good for hisec piracy which can be fun at times) ill teach you what that means and such if you want...

but anyways this is a great oportunity for our numbers to grow...and in eve the bigger your numbers the farther you go...(regardless of what ships ur flying...ive seen a fleet of 20+ first tier frigates (pretty much the ship you start out it) take on a fleet of battleships (only like 5 or so but still) and whipe the space with them...was pretty epic...the biggest battle i have personaly been in was 120 people (real life people) on about 85....and yah we murdered them ruthlessly and it was much fun...

i will help anyone who would like to give it a whirl get set up with the learning skills and what have you and ill teach you some basics and such...(i cant teach alot as im still learning aswell...allways learning in this game :-P) but i will try as i can to make sure you get setup properly...its a very rewarding game...

now onto cost...its a 15$ a month game which will turn most of you off im sure...but if you get good enough at the game you can purchase gametime cards with ingame currency(isk) its about 300million isk for a plex (ingame gametime card) and a decently skilled pilot can easily make 40-50million isk an hour...or more if you know what your doing...ive seen somone pull 500million isk in 30 mins before...how the "plex" works is somone in real life buys a 60 day gamecard....they inturn break it into 2 30 day gamecards inside eve (there is a little button to do this) and then they sell it on the market ingame... its a realy cool feature that i love alot...so in essence if you get good enough (and its not that hard) you CAN make enough easily to play the game for free...

anyways...this is tex signing off...

happy hollidays

Tex,

I played EVE for a bit and enjoyed it. I had a hard time finding people to do anything with so I gave it up.

It was very beautifully rendered and challenging. A good game if you like a cross between space fights and simulations.

I was tempted a couple times by EVE, but then I remembered I like the Space Sim setting for like a few hours at a time once every few months. After that short number of hours I remember why I rarely play space sims... a little bit goes a long way. No way I'm paying $15/month for EVE so I can spend months building up a super-ship and then lose it in seconds to gate campers. The whole being stuck in a ship thing is kinda weak too, I want to be able to walk around planets and space stations and stuff. I get what I need as far as space sims go from X3.

Star Trek Online has open beta starting in a couple weeks and goes live in February. That's the kind of Space MMO I'm looking for. I have a ton of videos posted in the off-topic section if you're interested. If anyone else is looking for an MMO to pay for and doesn't want to hold out for STO, I recommend checking out Champions Online. I picked it up on sale and have been enjoying the hell out of it. The character creation options in game are kind of insane, you could put together just about any superhero you wanted. It's an active combat system too, I play the game with a controller. Not something I'm used to being able to do in MMO's.

Post Re: eve online
yah if your in a smart enough group of friends you dont realy need to worry about gate campers....and as far as training into an uber-powerful ship imho there is NO uber powerful ship....every ship has its weaknesses and its not allways a bigger more powerful ship...like i said i can take a t1 frigate and murder cruiser class ships which is pretty funny...you just have to know what fits to use and such...oh and eve is in the works of making a walking in stations expansion...aswell as they are releasing next year a console based fps that will tie directly into the eve pc client...its called dust 514...and basicly corperations will hire people in dust 514 to duke it out for controll over the planet...im not 100% on the exact details but it looks realy realy promising...also like i said i can give you a free 21 day trial and also if you feel like staying with it i might be able to swing a plex your way giving you another 30 days...i had a previous account that in the 21 day trial +30 days i was strong enough to make about 20-30mill an hour and easily making 300mill isk in a month to buy another 30 day plex so i wasnt spending a dime on the game...ive heard about peopel even making 300mill isk in a 14 day trial and starting an account like that...so it IS possible to play without having a pesky 15$ fee monthly...startrek online does look like a great game and i WILL be trying that out...but yah...like i said the trial is their for ANYONE who wants it...if you dont like it then by all means let it die i dont mind :-P...but yah...its still a small corp right now but we are in the works of expanding QUICKLY...we have a wormhole claimed as our own allready and at this very second im flying some stuff to our pos (player owned station) to start making around 40 million a day for the corp in tech 3 stuff...so its looking realy realy good...we have a guy in the corp that has 2 accounts over 1 year old thats pretty much running the corp...i trust him with my life irl...great guy tbh...we help our corp mates out as much as possible...oh and its boring as hell but i do have mining set up in the wormhole that can pull each person personaly a fair chunk of change ( i cant say exactly how much because i have no idea) but anything you mine is your money's worth...unless its gas of course...but you WILL be compensated for gas mining....but anyways....like i said its open to anyone and everyone :-)
